ISIS actually intends to provoke a war and then lose it. They believe that by doing so they will usher in the apocalypse.

What ISIS wants is a war, with all (or as many as possible) muslims on their side.

THAT'S WHAT ISIS WANTS.

they want a grant world war that divides us all into muslim and non-muslim. their entire goal is to inflame religious tension.

In very simplified terms, ISIS wants to establish itself as the caliphate (a sort of old-school Islamic nation) that will defeat the enemies of Islam in a climactic final battle at the end of the world.

ISIS wants political power. They are using religion as a method to get people kill and die in that quest.

ISIS wants to create a nation. Being bombed but not to the point that it hurts their combat effectiveness helps them get recruits.

ISIS wants you and everyone else on the planet to convert to Islam and live under the strictest interpretation of Sharia Law, or die.

And every time someone fear-mongers about terrorism, that's exactly what ISIS wants.

This is exactly what ISIS wants, they want to goad the West into a final showdown in Syria, the final battle where their Mahdi will appear.

cuginhamer 1 point 5 days ago
Well, exactly what ISIS wants is a ground war where they first win a big battle at Dabiq on Syria's Turkish border, which triggers the Day of Reckoning when Jesus comes back to join their team, uniting the Jews and Christians with the Islamic faithful and the armies will quickly take Istanbul and Rome and the sun will rise in the West and the good Muslims will achieve world domination and peace will reign and nobody will slander the prophet or commit ungodly acts, in perfect harmony, as the Quran predicts.
