Well it turns out this whole thing so far is a bunch of smoke and mirrors. All Comey is saying is that some of the emails on Weiner's laptop may affect the Clinton case. In that they haven't been read yet. The Clinton's response is, "Okay, make this smoking gun public. Tell us what's on these damn emails!"
I see this as a hail-mary pass by the republicans. The letter doesn't actually say anything, but it gives right-wing publications and Trump license to inflate and conflate. I don't see how this could win the race for Trump, but it very well might save the bacon of several congressional republicans. Say hello to four more years of gridlock as we trip over climate change turning points!
Stupid Obama, putting Ashcroft's #2 guy in his administration in hopes of engendering "bipartisan compromise" with the party of the Southern Strategy. |
