| I have $50k debt right now, but it's gonna be ~$100k when I graduate midway thru 2L, I could tolerate working in civil legal aid/having a practice very strongly focused on pro bono work but that is the only thing I can imagine enjoying as a lawyer... and that won't pay enough to manage $100k of debt. Also civil legal aid is really competitive in my area... You have to do little 3-6 month temp contracts for a few years until you get a year long gig.
I would never do crim defense. I am thinking of either transferring to a much cheaper school or just abandoning law entirely and Just Doing Coding. You went to law school right? Do you regret it? What are you doing now? |
