This actually helped me understand the movie finally. by Mischief Maker 02/13/2017, 7:36pm PST I will readily admit that I didn't "get" the movie when it came out, in part because I'd just read the original Heinlein novel it parodied and just like my friend who was enamored with Atlas Shrugged briefly, my innocent teenage brain was enamored by the rosy fascist world of Heinlein's novel without realizing the awfulness underneath. So when the movie came out and was clearly satirizing the novel it completely turned me off and I haven't watched it for years. Thanks for explaining it for my simple simian brain, Mike and Jay! God, now I'm wondering if there are people who don't get the satire underneath WH40K. On an unrelated note, no piece of pop culture media, WH40K included, ever successfully captured the awesome aesthetic of the battle armor in Heinlein's novel except Edge of Tomorrow.
