I credit Trump's success with Black Lives Matter turning malignant and the other chaos of last year, not a permanent rejection of the left. Though Hillary only "won" the popular vote because of who she was running against. Few conservative voters in California, for example, were going to vote for him and have that on their conscience. But the cherry is popped and at the rate he's adjusting he will easily take it in 2020.
