The operation to get people off the highway was fun by laudablepuss 06/05/2017, 8:33am PDT Semis making some really hard turns with barely a foot to spare to turn around. (We were watching with binoculars.) It resembled carrier deck operations with cars one at a time getting turned around by waving police officers and driving off. Back further up though, people just had to wait. 3 hours I think was typical. But if you're waiting in traffic forever, at least you have the giant plume of inky black smoke to indicate that this was something out of the ordinary. Good job to cdot getting all the lanes open before the morning rush hour.
