On the flipside, it also seems stupidly easy for Jason to just lay traps in front of the phone. It's impossible to avoid such a trap, and even if you know it's right there you can't disarm it in any way unless you have a pocket knife, a rare item that shows up a max of 2 times throughout the entire map (and you probably want to save them as the only way to escape Jason's grab).
