Despite the increased strategic scope, it ends up in the same spot as Enemy Unknown where the early hump is the hardest part and it only gets easier as you progress.
Then it's annoying how crazy tight money is. I can accept not being able to get everything in a run, but it's like you can barely get one-quarter to one-third.
But you don't need it because everything is so easy once you upgrade one gun and armor level. Why bother spending your limited budget on anything but those and comms/power + proving grounds + shadow chamber? All the proving grounds stuff is horribly overpriced (in cost & build time). Psi powers suck (stasis has been the only semi-useful power).
I'd be happy with increased difficulty if they just gave you more money so you can actually get stuff beyond the bare minimum you need for the mandatory objectives progression. |
