I see this differently. Brazille is a piece of shit for sure, but politically I think anything that hurts Perez, the Clinton brand, and ESPECIALLY the consultants who bankrupted the DNC, can only help in 2018. These people suck at running campaigns, I can tell you this both from the accounts in "Shattered" and my own experience trying to implement their idiotic strategies in 2004.

It's worth noting that Tom Perez supported ending the Obama rule against the DNC collecting corporate money because "you can't bring a spoon to a knife fight" then fell short of his fundraising goals anyway. And even though he said during the nominating process that the chair of the DNC would have to be a full-time job, he's now taking time off to teach at Brown despite being below his fundraising targets. The highlight of Perez's chairmanship was that time he used a swear word in public. And just two weeks ago he purged all the Ellison supporters from the DNC and replaced them with a carefully ethnically diverse group of Clinton-wing democrats who will continue to hire the same incompetent (but connected) consultants.

Wanna guarantee Dems lose seats in 2018? Run more campaigns like this:



(His opponent said during a televised debate that she did not support a livable wage!) I promise you that if the 2020 nominee is Kamala Harris and she hires morons like Peter Daou then her campaign message is a repeat of 2016's "vote for me or you're sexist!" Trump will be a 2-termer.

It's funny you mention Ross Perot because the core brand proposition of 3rd-way Democrats is they win campaigns, as shown by Bill Clinton unseating incumbent Bush, conveniently ignoring that Perot was a much bigger spoiler for Bush Sr. and Dole than Ralph Nader and Jill Stein in every election since 2000 combined, and ignoring the hemorrhaging of downticket seats by Democrats under 3rd way neoliberalism.

THESE PEOPLE SUCK AT THEIR JOBS and the less money wasted on Perez's DNC and given to candidates directly, the better!
