while we're on the topic of Steam shit that is awful.
I have a Steam controller - which I use to play Cuphead and Rocket League - and Steam seems to think that if I turn on that controller, I want to control Steam with it. I do not. I *just* want it to work in the game. But Steam feels very strongly that if I have a controller activated that clearly I prefer a bullshit Smart TV-looking interface that's slow as shit and confusing. But if I launch the Steam controller *after* launching a game, the game doesn't recognize the controller (this is true for Cuphead anyway, I believe it may not be true for Rocket League).
I've found that the only tolerable experience is to launch the controller and as the very next action press the Play button for the game in my Library. This properly threads the needle and lets me play the game with the controller without forcing me to experience Big Picture Mode. |
