Guess what system requires an "expansion pack"? by Ice Cream Jonsey 08/14/2019, 8:03pm PDT
I sure as hell found out today. I went to Level 7 games in Denver and not that I think anyone that works there will ever read this, but they are the absolute most patient people in the world. Not for me. I mean, they were patient for me, sure, but I am an easy customer. There was a teenager or twentysomething there that was really, really excited about Borderlands 3, definitely at the end of the spectrum and was engaging the guys that worked there in conversation about it. He wanted to talk about every character and every weapon and long after it hit charitable, they were nice to this guy.

I heard good things about Perfect Dark, although I now see that it definitely looks and feels like it came out when FarCry did and when Return to Castle Wolfenstein did.

Oh, wait: "Perfect Dark is a first-person shooter developed by Rare and released for the Nintendo 64 video game console in 2000"
FarCry: The game was released for Microsoft Windows on March 23, 2004
John Romero's Daikatana is a first-person shooter video game developed by Ion Storm for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 64, and released in 2000
Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a first-person shooter video game published by Activision,[2] released on November 19, 2001 for Microsoft Windows

Okay, I don't know any more, maybe FarCry looked like shit when it was 4 years later than Perfect Dark, Daikatana and RTCW. But we all thought FarCry was AMAZING, graphics wise. I don't get it. It looked the worst of the four when I played it a couple years ago.

Whatever. That was me getting side tracked. Here is the important bit - I knew nothing about Perfect Dark, but apparently you need the EXPANSION PACK to play this thing and I don't have one. It does at least start. There is stuff you don't know about a system unless you buy it, so in this respect I guess I am glad I am trying out an N64. What other craven debacles does its circuitry hold?
