The main use of these impeachment hearings are:

1. It puts purple state republican senators like Susan Collins between a rock and a hard place because on one hand they can be painted as defending Trump when they desperately want to look like moderates if they vote no, on the other hand Trump doesn't understand the concept of letting someone take a bad vote that doesn't count for political purposes and he'll sic his chud army against them if they vote yes.

2. The stress of impeachment landed Trump in the hospital this weekend, and the more his suffering mirrors that of the literal thousands of children who have been kidnapped from their parents and caged, some of whom will never see their parents again, the better.
