I've pretty much ruined my life, but maybe other people can learn from my mistakes. I recently applied for a local job as a Tools Developer for a small PC video game outfit, but came up snake-eyes in that roll of the dice. What sort of package should you be putting together to get a job like that? Nobody really goes and codes "tools" in their spare time, do they? Should you always send a CD when applying for any sort of video game employment position? I don't have a bachelor's degree in anything.
Maybe technical work isn't for me. How do you go about getting your foot in the door writing for a gaming publication like PC Gamer or EGM? Do you just keep writing and submit, unsolicited, sample after sample and clicking "send"? |
