Sectarianism is always "us vs the world" and so I don't know how this well end but it won't end with anyone giving up on that side of it. It may be that we can only hope that their ranks shrink by virtue of failure to attract more converts. It's ultimately a totally nihilistic, self-destructive ideology, so you'd like to think that people wouldn't flock to it. But I guess we're learning interesting things about what people are willing to do if they feel bad enough.
