Windows 10 Installation - the right way? by Ice Cream Jonsey 11/22/2020, 11:29am PST
I fight MS stuff all the time and I just want to be NORMAL this time out.

I'm making my father in law a computer for Christmas, just going to get some parts and install Windows 10. I am going to buy a key for Win10 Home. I will read up on the best way to do this but in theory, is the idea:

1) Give Microsoft money
2) Put it on a flash disk
3) Install from the flash disk
4) Let it download the zillion of terabytes of what it needs
5) Turn off the telemetry stuff (which Flack has written up either here or my other site)

I want to avoid going the DVD route, which I suspect is going to be possible. I mean, it's gotta be possible.

You need to literally unplug the internet to get an offline account. by Mischief Maker 11/22/2020, 12:12pm PST NEW
