"Roll d10's equal to your attribute+skill and everything that comes up as a 5 or 6 is a success" is a way better system than "roll d6's with exploding 6's until you reach an obscenely high number", mainly because the latter results in a lot of failure if you don't use your dice pool, which was also a stupid thing.
