Patrice O'Neal documentary by Rafiki 09/26/2024, 3:21pm PDT Comedy Central put together a Patrice O'Neal documentary. Some highlights, if you can't be bothered: Young Patrice was a giant asshole and torpedoed his own career because he was too big of a dick to even try to be professional or personable, in spite of his obvious talent and multiple people trying to help him into show business. Food addiction (duh) he couldn't figure out how to beat, despite going vegan for 3 years. Was incredibly depressed late in life because he was resigned to dying young on account of his weight. Got his girlfriend pregnant and told her he wasn't going to tell her what to do but preferred she not have the baby because he didn't want to leave her with another baby (see point #3). His girlfriend later found out that he secretly kept the positive pregnancy test. Was apparently a really good stepdad to his girlfriend's daughter. By all accounts, was pretty much exactly the same off-stage as on. And, of course, some killer stand-up material.
