Never, ever, try to run a microwave and 4 computers off of one circuit. We just got a new microwave and seeing as how this apartment is meant for old people to keep cats in and/or die in, there are no 3-prong plus save against one wall we specifically mentioned that we required before moving in. Needless to say, somebody (me) got a hankering for popcorn when the new microwave arrived from Amazon today and, well, you can figure out the rest. Fortunately, a couple of weeks ago ES and I locked down all the rc scripts so that no manual intervention is needed to bring the site back online short of hitting the power button.
UPS is, obviously, rapidly demonstrating itself as a priority here because this is the second time a power outtage knocked out the server.
