You'll need an open browser tab to the wiki page just to know what those production chains are; the tooltips only tell you what a building produces, not what it consumes or what each good can be turned into.

I won't pressure you to give the game another chance, but this is just plain untrue.

In the upper-righthand corner of every blueprint offer is a magnifying glass symbol, clicking that takes you to the in-game encyclopedia that tells you the exact recipes provided by the building, with everything it consumes.

Oh ok, buried 3 clicks in, you get a building encyclopedia that still makes you click through that radial wheel to see every ingredient instead of just showing you all at once. You still can't look at a resource and be told the possible products it makes, just recipes at buildings. I'm right in that none of this is in the popup tooltips, where it belongs.

Clearing goals are only one way to fill the blue bar. You can win through fulfilling citizens' needs, which is 100% revealed to you from the very start, or by picking the loyalty option when going through exploration sites.

The reputation gained through resolve is excruciatingly slow and doesn't deplete the impatience bar, so isn't a real alternative to orders. Since there's zero difference between keeping resolve just barely above 0 and just barely below the blue bar, it's often not worth bothering trying to keep resolve high since it just drains resources you could be putting toward fulfilling orders or trading away for stuff that does.

And none of this applies to the slog seal levels, where your only option is the special orders. Have a browser tab open to the wiki with a list of all the possible ones if you don't want to get locked into a fail state with a forced cycle restart

And what are you doing picking goals that you can't fulfill anyway? You have a selection to choose from, and you can go through your blueprint list at any time before making a choice.

You...often don't know what you'll be able to fulfill when you have to pick your goals? With the workaround being that you have to sit on a bunch of unpicked blueprints until the orders come in? Like I said?

It's not the difficulty. It's virtually impossible to lose by exploiting the broken trade system and keeping the seal objective tab open. It's just a massive slog grinding through 2% upgrades and the seals. All roads lead to lucking out on the RNG or packaged goods. After the silver seal, the question "Do I really want to do it all over again with longer runs?" had a clear answer.
