The romantic ideal of the Executive by Mysterio Relations Dept. 06/15/2026, 8:12pm PDT
is a corporate structure that is ONLY the C-Suite connected to group of subsidiaries that send revenue in one direction: theirs.

Employees are bad, in their view, because of benefits payouts and salary negotiations. They prefer a mob of sub-contractors that fight each other to keep a seat warm. Ideally, from the lowest cost-center nation (this moves around every so often, but you probably know it's been India for a while).

With regards to games: there's the passion of creation at odds with the business end. Neither are exactly rational. No corporate business plan will make a game fun, nor will a labor of love necessarily provide a financial return. Subsequent generations of The Games Industry are built on a time/place/people that is long gone. From my experience I see many who break in to these corporate studios as seeking a specific job title in a specific company ... it's definitely not about passion for games. Hell, most of them complained about not getting in at Facebook, and settled for gamedev. Grim!
