It was a morning like all others, until she realized her dad wasn't home. In his place, a stranger who speaks nonsense and insists she "takes her medicine". Who is he? Where is dad?
So, it should take you all of 5 seconds to guess what the story is. People complain that the description spoils the story and you should go in as blind as possible, but after starting the game it should take you all of 5 seconds to guess what the story is.
This is just a visual novel. I'm not going to judge the story. What irritates me about this game and all of the others like it is, ok, someone has a story they really wanted to tell. Cool. They picked an interactive medium. Why? What am I going to do with a controller or mouse and keyboard that can't be captured in a book or a Youtube video? And the answer is inevitably, "nothing really." They've got their story but then can't figure out anything for you to actually DO. This is a game that's been given sloppy blowjobs and nominated for all kinds of awards based on the poignancy of the story because no one will just come out and say things like, "hey, maybe dragging a button across the screen along a predetermined path is fucking boring." "Maybe awkwardly swirling a button around in a big circle doesn't capture the anxiety of getting ready for a first date." And that means these things will never get better and will continue to just be Shitty WarioWare, while assholes like me will just get written off as not being the proper audience.
Between the trailer below and the description above, you know everything about the story. At the 30 second mark you can see some examples of the riveting interactive experience awaiting you. On the upside, it takes an hour to finish, so you can play the whole game and then refund it. I can't, because I waited too long to play it.
