It used to be that companies subsidized the console hardware so they could make money off exclusives. And devs stopped supported old consoles after a few years because everyone was on the new thing.
But now the hardware subsidies are becoming unaffordable, so everyone's hiking prices. People are not upgrading. Devs are continuing to support PS4 and older consoles. Exclusives are barely even a thing any more. Of course the recent string of triple-A bombs hasn't helped at all.
Basically if hardware is going to be stagnant, you should just buy a PC and play on Steam. |
