| Kirk's the daddy - take that as read. Spock is mum, sensible and practical. McCoy is granny, the old-fashioned complainer, always taking care of Kirk and making sure he wears his jumper (while remaining deeply skeptical of Spock). Scotty's the fun drunk uncle who once stood trial for murdering a woman. Chekhov is the youngest, an adorable bowl-cut ragamuffin; Sulu the eldest, obviously gay but he doesn't talk about it; Uhura the middle child, a great communicator too often ignored. Yeoman Rand is the babysitter they stopped using and don't talk about anymore. It all just works, at least as much as the id/ego/superego paradigm that youtubers keep pushing. | ||||
