Anyway, the reason why I posted here was because I had a BEE IN MY BONNET about the youtubes that youtube is showing me. I have real problems with the Freudian interpretation of Kirk/Spock/McCoy. I don't care how reductive I am, they are worse. I think it's fucking retarded that while the psychological community has deprecated Freud, the ~media analysis~ community has embraced him. I understand why. It's the same reason why he was popular in the first place, and why psychology is even half-respected as a discipline today. He was real good at taking complicated situations and turning them in to stories. Not only that, but salacious stories, about little girls wanting to fuck their fathers. I think Freud was probably a pretty cool guy. |
