It reminds me of this videoby Mischief Maker 07/30/2026, 4:30pm PDT
TL;DR:
One of the greatest hand-drawn animators of all time wastes decades of his life trying to make the greatest cartoon of all time, "The Thief and the Cobbler"
Agrees to do this bullshit "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" movie for Disney to secure the funds for his dream project.
During the project he showed "Thief and the Cobbler" footage to other Disney animators. Certain designs from "Alladin" were strikingly similar to "The Thief and the Cobbler."
The dream project is never finished. The parts that have been finished are technically amazing, but meandering and nearly plot-less, with a healthy dose of racial and sexist stereotypes that I guess wouldn't have been so shocking the decades ago when the project was started.
In retrospect, that bullshit "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" move turned out to be his ACTUAL magnum opus.
