Honestly can't think of a better one I've seen in any show or movie? If Edgar Wright in his prime wrote a super hero bar fight, it would probably be the episode 5 finale of Dispatch. I'm upgrading this above James Gunn; this is better than anything in Guardians of the Galaxy. You probably have to go to the JJ Jameson scenes in Raimi Spiderman for material as good. 5 hours of JJJ scenes is what you're getting.
But it still makes me sad that nearly every entertainment production dollar of the past 15 years has gone towards people who think Buffy is the height of wit. As long as I'm making Joss Whedon comparisons, I guess Dispatch is superhero Firefly if 90% of the cast was different flavors of Jayne, and Malcolm wasn't an incel? Superman with the personality of an alien from the Strange Planet strip is also a great touch. |
