Doesn't look too bad to me. Other than missing those teams you mentioned, how would you improve the schedule? I'd like to see Tennessee in there another time instead of NYG twice, but whatever. Out of curiosity, when's the last time Cinci got a MNF game?
I didn't mention the Bears having a game, which they don't deserve, but I guess that's because they have a new stadium. Power to them. I wouldn't want to play flag football in the lot they had to use last season. I think the Lions got a home MNF game when they moved into their new place as well, so if the league is rewarding cities that get new stadiums that way, then there's no use calling for a lineup change.
But anyway, I probably would have put Pittsburgh at KC instead of Dallas-NYG for week two, and then done something to let the Bucs start off at home on MNF rather than in Philly. Everybody already geeks themselves up to take out the previous season's champs (lately, it's an accomplishment just getting to the playoffs, period, after you win the bowl) each and every week, so I don't see why they shouldn't get to start off at home, present the hardware to the guys who didn't bolt in the off-season, all that stuff. I also would probably have given the 12/22 game to Miami and Buffalo, just because Miami's meteoric descent starts around then, and seeing Wandstedt try to fight it off like a scarecrow getting doused with a flamethrower is the kind of comedy that the entire nation deserves around Christmas time.
Looks like it was 1992 for the Bengals. They got shut out by the Steelers 20-0. There's an entire generation of kids growing up that are missing out on the experience of reading a columnist on CNNSI dedicating two screenfulls of text to high school field hockey immediately followed by a one-sentence and poorly thought-out dismissal of their team's chances on Monday night. That shouldn't have to happen to anybody.
