Keep in mind the following:

When I made that post, no link had been found, and this had been repeatedly stated by every non-tabloid source in existence and the government itself admitted that while they felt there might have been they had no evidence of one.

Yet 75% of Americans believed there had been.

That is what I have a problem with.

It's not even a question of who is wrong or right - I don't at this time believe that there is a smoking gun in Iraq, but you know what? I might be wrong on that.
I don't at this time believe there was an Osama-Saddam link, but you know what? I might be wrong on that.

I fully admit both these things.

My problem, as it were, is with the American public believing both these things despite having no evidence - solely because they want to - and there is, in my opinion, something very wrong with that. It's also why we went to war, like it or not. If Bush hadn't convinced the American public of these two things despite no evidence and despite intentionally disrupting the inspections process (which as of this writing found FAR MORE than the troops have), he never could have gotten away with this war.

There were a lot of outcomes in this situation that could have left me with some faith in our administration - discovery of a link once we had control of Iraq. Discovery of a smoking gun in terms of chemical weapons. Neither of these happened and until they do I am cursed to carry a deep and abiding hatred towards the actions of this administration to the grave.

Note the bolded wording. This situation, and my thoughts, are always interested in hearing new evidence.
