Jesus fucking fuck. For the last time people, DEMOCRACY != MOB RULE. A democracy without very strong protections for the freedom of speech (which an Islamic theocracy would obviously not provide) IS NOT A DEMOCRACY. While it's entirely reasonable to suggest that democracy ultimately won't work in Iraq, it is utterly asinine for you to suggest that Bush & Co. are doing something distinctly underhanded by not allowing the fundamentalists to steamroll over the rest of the country.

A simple majority of Americans are Christian. Does that mean the rest of us should sit quietly by while they gut the religious protections of the first amendment?
