As I am in the market for some good 2 player games, I was wondering if you could perhaps relate your experiences with Vol. 2 to the other highly successful unrealistic sports game that always springs to my mind, Virtua Tennis/Tennis 2k2. Since it's the only "sports" game I have ever really enjoyed....It sounds like they do a lot of the same great things to their respective sports.

No, NBA Street Vol.2 is nowhere near as good as the distilled perfection that is Virtua Tennis. Not that you won't enjoy NBA Street, as it's not really basketball, but NBA Street's philosophy is more akin to a combo fighting game. String together trick moves, build up your super bar, and block at the right time. For the Virtua Tennis experience in another sports game, the easy call is Beach Spikers, but I know you didn't ask for a Gamecube game.
