You mean getting extra points if you killed multiple enemies of the same color in a row? So you could compare your penis size high score against other Ikaruha players online? I guess I did miss out on that "fun".

Sorry if this game doesn't let you pick up screen-clearing bombs every 30 seconds.


You're right, I am dissapointed about that. You know why? Because this is a SHOOTER game. The whole thing comes off as a kid's game of red light green light. Most people get their shooter kicks from dodging hordes of projectiles and blowing shit up. Let me tell you my adrenaline was shooting through the roof when those huge enemies would come up and totally fill the screen with white projectiles while I....sat there and absorbed them all.

Seriously, go and download that Cho Ren whatever 68k game that Mischief Maker linked to. Not only is it more fun, it's free. My review of Ikaruga would be a little more positive if it were free, but there's really no reason to shell out $50 for a game like that.

Also, and this is nit-picking, but it takes more than three or four hours to get free play.



Would I be nit-picking saying that this doesn't make the game any more fun? When's the last time anyone's played a game and thought "you know, this would be a whole lot more fun if they gave you limited continues"?
