This is a pretty level headed group, which is great. Silent Hill is a fine series, so I'm not surprised the fans are better behaved than you'd expect to see on a fan board. Still, replying is fun.

Lol, Stopped playing coz of details like that!? Well somethings are pretty stupid in games, especially horrorgames, but I dont mind really, I see it as only a game that wants me to solve a problem.
If we, as a people, lower our expectations of horror games any further, I think our expectations will actually dwell in the fires of hell. We may even encounter our lowered expectations in the hell dimension of Silent Hill 4. How will we fight our expectations? Don't answer that, because everyone knows that we'll fire at it with the pistol a couple of times, and then finish it off with the steel pipe when our expectations are lying on the ground. Like always.

Dude. Sad!
There are things like that in every game! Even in Metal Gear Solid 2! You would have thought that if Snake fell off a tanker that he'd be able to SWIM for at least a while.
There are loads more examples but it'd be sad to explain them :P
My point is: FUCK THOSE GAMES. Don't just type a smiley face and say OH WELL! Instead, demand that games which are supposed to be fun actually provide fun and not frustration. Secondly, the example of falling off the tanker is entirely different from the invisible subway barrier of Silent Hill 3. You can easily assume that falling off the tanker is bad, but in SH3, a game that encourages you to explore every dark nook and cranny, you should not be insta-killed for the crime of walking down a dark tunnel.

You misread the author field, as I'm Fussbett, not Fabio. I can't decipher the rest of the message, but your use of punctuation is inspiring.

That guy is just sad
Exactly. I'm very sad because this game was disappointing. :(

I died there too, but christ! I wouldn't stop playing a game I had forked out full-price for simply because of a relativly irrational death! I'd hate to see him play Tomb Raider, I can tell you!
And if a title as utterly uninspiring as RE:0 made him have an epiphany then he probably should get another hobby! No offence intended... but I guess that just sounds glib.
I finished Tomb Raider actually. Every frustrating moment of Tomb Raider. Then Tomb Raider 2 came out, and I saw it was more of the same shit, and I said FUCK THIS GAME. Regarding RE:0, the epiphany was exactly BECAUSE the game was so uninspiring. I agree I should probably get another hobby, but Erik already did this routine in his Rune review, so I guess I'll stick to video games, and maybe just never play survival horror again.
...excluding Resident Evil Outbreak, of course. |
