With the Rangers' Hank Blalock batting, players from the Texas bullpen and dugout charged toward a taunting male fan in the field boxes, the Oakland Tribune said.
As a screaming reliever, Doug Brocail, was pulled away by a security guard, Francisco, also a relief pitcher, tossed the ballboy's chair into the crowd. It hit a man on the head, and then hit the woman, who wasn't involved in the confrontation.
I think whipping chairs at fans could be crossing the line. Professional sports might be out of control.
Well, they weren't really *fans*.
What were they?
If they were taunting him, then apparently they were found wanting in fandom - so much so that they got chairs to the face.
There's two sides to every story, is all I'm sayin'.
They were fans, but just for the other team. Also, fan is short for fanatic. Statement stands.
You've taken my quick dumb joke and made it into a horrible depressing quagmire. =( |
