I do not believe in personal redemption. Once someone has crossed over to the dark side of trying to game the speculative market (don't they know they have to keep Wall Street on the up-and-up, or it will be tough to sell the public on putting the Social Security fund into the private market??!) they're no better to me than OJ Simpson. In fact, they're worse. But if there is a glimmer of hope for Matha's soul, that glimmer can be fanned into a flame of burning brightness. Can anything happen that isn't somehow related to the incompetency of the Bush administration? Cheney isn't getting his, but would you accept the punishment of another super-wealthy person? Are you going to say she only saved herself $40,000, so no harm, no foul? Why is she above the law?
