I like quite a few things about CMR2, I consider it to be the perfect Rally sim. So what does CMR3?
Bumpercam: Gone (this sucks so much, even though it was unrealistic it was simply awesome)
Choose your own car: Gone (you have to drive a Ford, even when Colin himself drives Citroen)
Peugeot and Skoda: Gone (they canned my two favorite cars, even though they are still competing in the real Rally Championships)
Customize your own car: Gone (what the fuck, how the fuck am I supposed to prepare for stages, tinkering with the settings was cool)
The graphics basically stayed the same (they are pretty good, but why the fuck did they upgrade to the new Subaru Impreza?).
You get more tracks (US and Japan for instance, they are pretty boring) and new cars (for instance the Citroen or the secret Ford Puma from CMR2), but nothing that would grip me like something that grips very hard.
So instead of going the "More of the same!" way or the "Make everything better!" way, they go the "Let's kill the fun!" way of sequels.
Avoid at all costs if you have CMR2. |
