It is not the intent of the news box to post anything other than links, correct? For instance, if someone has John Romero joke #69,105 ready, the process is to post it to the forum, you and/or I snort, chuckle and titter at it, one of us puts a link to it in the news box, process over.
Correct. I'd imagine that it would have to be some killer killer post or thread to point it out in the news box. I would expect that it would be used almost exclusively for saying "Here is a new article about the smell of Penny Arcade fans, from the perspective of Caltrops crazy man Senor Barborito. It's totally hilarious!" and then a link. Alert, tease and drive people to the new articles. Maximize profitability, highlight our skillsets, better communicate our intangibles.
But yeah, during a no-update stretch, linking to a good post is also something that can happen. Play it by ear. |
