Those are the main reasons Blizzard games have such an enormous online community. Dawn of War has a retarded "feature" where different language versions are incompatible. English can only play with english, french with french, and german with german (Barbie would love this, half of the games online are german). It will still allow you to chat with and join games by people with different version, but once the game starts everyone will get an "out of synch" error. The only way to tell what version someone has is if a game is named "2on2 GERMAN ONLY".

Online is fun so far. The online and offline skirmish AI is also very good, so you don't even have to deal with people if you don't want to. About the only difference I could tell between a human and computer opponent is most humans will turtle up with about five hundred turrets. This is especially annoying since most people play on very turtle friendly and chokepoint heavy maps, the kind with only one entrance to a base.

Another strange annoyance is lag. No matter what your connection or how many people are in a game, you will lag. There's a very noticeable 2-3 second delay from when you issue orders to your units carrying them out. It was the same in both a 4on4 online game and a 2on2 direct connection I tired.
