How 'bout David Drake: Hammer's Slammers, that kind of stuff? He did a few that are futuristic adaptations of some Greek Myths (I think he did Jason and the Argonauts in one). Not much sex, but lots of kinda 'Nam-memed action. I dig 'em.

I read a lot of Frederick Pohl when I was a kid. Straightforward and always guarantees a sex scene, no matter how improbable. May not meet your violence needs, though. The Gateway/Heechee books are the best.
