So I finally beat Planescape Torment by Fabsy 01/03/2006, 2:15am PST after 3 years of on off play. Spoilers obviously Tried to hunt down the old thread where Michief Maker talks about the best ending, or how the most satisfying ending wasn't actually the "good" ending, can't find it. Best plot ever, but the ending could have used a little more. So the entire game revolves around regret felt over all the suffering your past incarnations have caused others, which was born out of your character knowing he was damned and not wanting to spend an eternity chained to a burning rock in hell. So your companions tragically die....for about 5 minutes until you bring them all back to life. Then you accept your fate of damnation to stop the cycle of suffering and....just get teleported to the lower plains just in time to pick up a mace and participate in the blood war, where I'm assuming you'll kick ass in? Hell, that really isn't any worse than what I've been going through the whole game. What was that whiner Nameless One so afraid of? Morte, Dakon, and Annah just sort of part, while Fall From Grace tells you she'll find you in Planescape 2? Huh Saw Memento for the first time last month. A movie with the exact same setup (amnesiac protagonist piecing together his situation from notes and tatoos left behind by his past self, warnings not to trust his seemingly helpful and joking companion) released a full year later? The short story Memento was based on didn't come out until after the movie, so was it one big coincidence?
