If there's no threat of violent reprisal, there's no political pressure to create new laws (like "stop stealing my shit, kid"). I'm not saying it's moral, just suggesting that this will end no sooner than someone involved getting shot, which forces politicans to "do something." Frankly I was hoping Cleve Blakemore would catch someone stealing his IP and test that whole Musket-as-Dominant-Battlefield-Weapon theory on them, but it looks like we'll have to wait for some other wingnut to come along and do it.
