Yesterday at work, I saw a demonstration of karma in action. It was kind of cold in the morning, so I grabbed my leather jacket for the first time in many months. It just so happens that I have a little kit of preparedness in the pocket of that jacket: a couple condoms, a nice zippo-style blowtorch, a set of lockpicks, and a set of automobile "try out" keys. I briefly considered a possible career as a locksmith for a while so I got some of the tools. I decided not to pursue it, but it never hurts to be able to open a lock. The try out keys are essentially a set of skeleton keys for car doors and ignitions and they are used like a big, fat specialized pick. At the end of the day, Rusty comes back from somewhere and locks his keys in his car. Rusty has taken it upon himself to behave like a dick towards me (I think he's jealous of my promotion) and has done nothing but constantly piss me off everytime I've had to deal with him since my promotion. I watched as he and another idiot who irritates me tried to get a coathanger or something into the car to unlock it. I was very amused by the incredible coincidence that I just happened to grab my jacket with the try out keys in the pocket on a day when he locked his keys in his car. I was nice enough not to point out that I could have helped him and I didn't laugh out loud at him or anything, but I did quite enjoy leaving him stuck there to reap the benefits of being an ass to me.
