I had assumed some some faggot in marketing thought that name up to be cute. I was mistaken. The name was, in fact, a literal description of what you would be forced to endure as your trial. Upon loading of the character generation screen, I spent a good five minutes trying to click one of the numerous greyed-out races available to owners of the full game. It was no good; the trial forces you to play as one of the Fey. Not my cuppa, but I know all the people out there clamoring for a fairy-based MMO (Zseni, Worm) perked up at the thought, so I finished character creation and prepared myself for a posy-picking good time. The game, however, had other ideas...
While EQ2 does an admirable job with wing selection, its fairy gameplay mechanics are lacking the depth of interaction needed to truely maintain fairy verisimilitude ("fairysimilitude" in the nomenclature of a newsgroup that a frequent). Sure, my male avatar was nearly indistinguishable from a female, but that's just scratching the surface. After an hour in game where I did not ONCE play piccolo to a nixie, I uninstalled that shit.
I rate this "Rainbow Brite fanfic" out of 10.
