Theatre management here combats the massive amount of cellphone usage (@ 0.5c/minute), usually by people seeking a Hindi plot summary from a knowledgable friend, not by providing Hindi subtitles, but by raising the movie's volume so much above the norm that even if the guy next to you was juggling airhorns, you'd never hear it.
The result of this policy? As soon as the movie reaches a quiet spot, people speed dial their loved ones and conversations become more frantic and intense than they would have been in a regular volume theatre out of fear the love scene will give way to a car chase and make them unintelligible.
As soon as Bond took that Indian lady to his room, the theatre lit up under the light of two dozen cellphones and people in a frenzy tried to squeeze half an hour's worth of asinine thoughts into a two minute call.
Even so, Casino Royale was fantastic. See it.
