As an unapologetic thief of all kinds of intellectual property, I wind up blowing all that hard-earned not-paid-to-movie-or-video-game-makers unemployment cash on: books with etexts freely available online. Public domain books at upwards of $60 a volume. This is because some books improve with beautiful presentation. Anime is anime no matter what you watch it on, and nothing can make it any worse than it already is, but Folio Society books are like excellent furniture or food: they surpass their basic function and rouse new hungers, pleasures, and comforts. |
