I'm just kidding. I am going to implement a direct download process in the range of impulse-purchase money. For instance, I'll personally buy almost any indie game with a good premise if it is less than $10, and buy something 99% of the time if it's less than five. If they support Paypal it means I don't have to even get up to find my credit card and/or worry about some asshole having access to my CC number.

I think a lot of independently created games risk people clicking elsewhere when they price their wares at $25 or above. It's not that twenty five bucks is this huge amount of money, in fact, with the collapse of the dollar it's virtually nothing for most of the world. But it automatically draws comparisons between older console games. "I can get that used copy of Resident Evil 4 for less than that," etc.

I'll get physical copies of the game printed in DVD cases, because those are fun to collect and have, but an actual retail box is way out of reach for the small run I anticipate doing. For less than a thousand copies, a printed cardboard box is like $9 a piece.

If I make enough money from all this to, for example, purchase a full-size Asteroids machine, I'll consider it a rousing success. Oh, the two other things I've learned by posting and reading messages about video games for the last 15 years is that if someone wants to OEM your game, you accept (Storm Over Gift 3) and, going against what you might think, people won't respond well to a full page magazine ad that says, "Ice Cream Jonsey Is Going To Make You His Bitch." Weird, I know, but true.
