| Harvest: Massive Encounter
There are only 5 buildings in the game and only two of them are actual weapons. Harvest the planet's resources while fending off attacks by aliens from all directions. Unlike most tower defense games, the aliens don't get more resilient as the game goes on, they become more numerous. MUCH more numerous. Like thousands on screen at a time numerous. I'm amazed at how smoothly all this crap runs on my machine at maximum resolution. The Defensive buildings are missile launchers and laser towers. Missile launchers can have a single upgrade to either super-long-range cruise missiles or super area-saturating ones. Laser towers don't get upgrades and a single tower can barely kill a regular alien. However, you can link the beams from several towers together into one big one, Death-Star-style. Each additonal tower adds 50% more damage and13% more range and there is NO maximum to how many towers you can add to the chain. Just watch out for the enemies with the rotational laser-proof shields. There is no campaign mode, just a series of skirmish variations. |
