OK, the good thing is that it's a JAMMA game. The bad thing is that I can't find any other boards on eBay. The good thing is that I found the manual here.
It seems odd to me that you have problems using buttons on your game and also an EEPROM error. I would think that there might be a problem somewhere with your JAMMA wiring harness, where it's simply not making a good circuit, but for all I know the EEPROM error is what's causing the problem, and your wiring is fine.
Actually, I guess there is one way we can test that. The steering on your right-side wheel is good, right? There should be wires going from the harness to the wheel. The harness looks like this:
If you remove the connectors from your good steering wheel, and place them on your left steering wheel, is that wheel still broken?
But regarding the EEPROM chips - if they are socketed, that's good, because we can burn new ones and easily replace them. If they are soldered straight to the board, that's a huge pain in the ass, and we may want to send the board to someone who can burn new EEPROMs and resolder them. Does the self-test give you specific info on what EEPROM went bad?
