| You might be surprised to learn that I currently live in Iowa. It's a tragedy in itself and a primary source of my hatred for humanity (what kind of people are we that we invent a place like Iowa?), but if life wasn't already bad enough I've been dealing with the recent flooding of biblical proportions. At least I think so anyway, since I've never really read the bible. Now, my place isn't actually flooded. In fact, it's a few miles away from any river and up on a big hill*. I also haven't lost power, my water isn't contaminated, and they haven't shut down any roads or sections of town I actually care about. However, I DID lose my internet for the entire weekend!!! I wasn't born a white male to put up with this kind of unimaginable BULLSHIT, so you can rest assured that I'm bringing this up at the next city council meeting about how our flood damage prevention is a dismal fucking failure.
*but not short and steep enough that I can spit on all the flooded out people drowning below |
