Welllllllll my power supply was stretched pretty thin actually and then I was downloading multiple torrents onto multiple locations on each disk, which probably shouldn't matter, but didn't help. Went to bed, and in the morning I had BSOD and two dead hard drives.
The smaller of the two, which had the OS (itself suspect: pirated XP), can still be read, but it takes forever and there wasn't anything really important on there anyway. The larger will attempt to fruitlessly and dourly read a single sector for a few minutes, click horribly, then cough and expire again.
