Caltrops - Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War - roots & snares are really starting to piss me off

Christ, is there a class that doesn't get one? Pure ranged dps machine bright wizards get 10 seconds of immobility that damages you on top of that. Circle strafing shadow warriors get the same. Seriously? Shouldn't that go to a tank or something? Battles seem to be heavily skewed towards ranged damage since the instant melee closes on the casters everyone and their grandmother lays down a burning cage, whirling pain, or barbed wire trap on you.
